If you are returning to the Springfield area and it has been a while, don't forget to revisit the Lincoln sights. The Abe Lincoln Presidential Museum opened in 2005 so if it has been that long since you have been back, it is a must see. Of course Lincoln's tomb, Lincoln's home, the Old State Capital and the State Capital are fun stops for the whole family.
